Lakes Region Lutheran Church (LRLC) is a new church plant.
We are part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Read about our beliefs here.
The group first met in July, 2021 to begin the discussion of starting a congregation in the Lakes Region. Initially, the group met at the home of one of the members.
In 2024, Rev. Robert Fischer came out of retirement to help us get established. Rev. Fischer grew up in Detroit, Michigan and became a Manufacturing Engineer. However, he always felt called to the ministry and thus entered seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Following seminary, he has served congregations in Minnesota, Indiana, and Illinois. In "retirement" he has also served congregations as both a substitute and vacancy pastor. Now, he is concentrating on service to LRLC. He is assisted occasionally by retired pastor Mick Meyer of Nashua, NH, as well as by the active pastors of Grace Lutheran Church, Nashua: George Ruwisch and Lesley Chen.
In 2024, the voters of Grace Lutheran Church in Nashua formally added us as a satellite campus of Grace. The blessings of LRLC increased again when they received a grant from the New England District to assist with rent and utilities. Now, we have our own worship location in Moultonborough on Rt. 25 (Whittier Hwy.)
Join us for worship on Sundays at 9:30am and partake in the journey as we build on the many gifts of God for our new house of worship.

LRLC invites you to participate in a rich
musical tradition!
The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod has a rich musical tradition. The Lutheran Service Book (LSB), contains 636 Hymns, Songs, and Canticles. Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the world’s most famous classical composers, was a Lutheran. He composed many works for his church.
Rediscover the Timeless Beauty of Historical Hymnody
In an age of constant change, there's a profound comfort in connecting with the enduring. For those who find solace, inspiration, and deep spiritual meaning in the rich tapestry of historical hymnody, we extend a special invitation.
Our church is a place where the echoes of faith from centuries past resonate vibrantly today. We believe that historical hymns are more than just melodies and verses; they are profound theological statements, artistic masterpieces, and a vital link to the spiritual heritage that has sustained believers for generations.
Why Historical Hymnody?
Profound Theology: These hymns are often distilled expressions of deep theological truths, meticulously crafted by individuals who wrestled with profound questions of faith, sin, redemption, and grace. Singing them allows us to engage with these truths in a deeply personal and corporate way.
Literary and Poetic Excellence: From the soaring verse of Charles Wesley to the timeless imagery of Isaac Watts, historical hymns are replete with masterful poetry and evocative language. They invite us to ponder the beauty of God's character and the wonders of His salvation.
Connection to the Saints of Old: When we sing hymns penned by saints like Martin Luther, Paul Gerhardt, Isaac Watts, or Charles Wesley we are not merely performing a song; we are joining a chorus that spans centuries, uniting our voices with the countless believers who have found strength and hope in these very words.
A Sense of Roots and Continuity: In a rapidly shifting world, historical hymnody provides an anchor, connecting us to the unwavering faith of those who came before us. It reminds us that we are part of a larger, eternal story.
Rich Musical Heritage: Beyond the words, the melodies themselves often carry a depth and grandeur that speak to the soul. From the stately cadences of traditional tunes to the heartfelt simplicity of folk melodies, the musical forms of historical hymns offer a unique and profound worship experience.
“I would certainly like to praise music with all my heart as the excellent gift of God which it is and to commend it to everyone. But I am so overwhelmed by the diversity and magnitude of its virtue and benefits that I can find neither beginning nor end or method for my discourse. As much as I want to commend it, my praise is bound to be wanting and inadequate. For who can comprehend it all? And even if you wanted to encompass all of it, you would appear to have grasped nothing at all.”
— Martin Luther
